Big Top Steam – Exhibit Continues through April 28

The Big Top Steam exhibit continues through the Bolivar-Harper’s Ferry Community Art Walk weekend. The artists are Leigh Anne Cassell (Charles Town, illustration) and Lindsey Donaldson (Ranson, illustration). In addition, there are  two special installations by Eric Holstine (Charleston, metalwork/stained glass) and Phil Berneburg (Bolivar studio, ceramics).

What’s New at Steam

Winding_Drum_Steam_Engine_2x3_Web_Card_Darker_RedAs announced last month, Steam at Harper’s Ferry has exclusive Harper’s Ferry themed postcards for sale. The first postcard design is based on a photo of the Harpers Ferry Tunnel. The next two feature Jefferson’s Rock and St. Peter’s Church.  In addition, Steam has launched a new SciFi/Steampunk imprint – Steam at Harper’s Ferry Press. Our first story was released last month, entitled The Acme Corporation, a political science fiction fantasy, by V. Edwards Clarke. Here is the abstract:

“By 2020, the Libertarian Party was renamed the Capitalist Party. The ACME Corporation dominated the health care, communications and entertainment industries. ACME’s revolutionary product VisuaClear was invented to manage perceived mental health costs, and was supported directly by the Capitalist Party. But when a powerhouse like ACME finances campaigns and sells products that exploit thought, what remains of a citizen’s free will?” Thanks to Bot Studios for putting the story in Kindle format and designing the cover.
